If you are interested in using the data loader, you are required to have at least 120MB of free disk space, run a Windows 7 or XP Operating system, have Java JRE 1.6 or a later version, Sun JVM 1.6 or a later version and ensure the machine you are using has administrator privileges. A user who is interested in using the Salesforce CRM offline is well advised that it’s only Microsoft IE version 6, 7, and 8 which are supported, the operating system supported are Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows Vista. It is also recommended to have at least 512 MB of RAM even though it can still work with 256 MB. Depending on the size of the particular briefcase in use, 250 MB of disk space is recommended; the bare minimum should not be less than 20MB though. For the processor, make sure it is an Intel Pentium II or newer version with speeds of not less than 500MHz. Salesforce userinfo for those intending to use Salesforce for outlook may include the following critical details; ensure that the default email program is Microsoft outlook that uses either Microsoft Exchange Online or Microsoft Exchange Server. Ensure they all have the latest hot fixes. Salesforce for outlook does not support outlook that has been installed using a streaming installer for Microsoft office called click –to- run.
